Note Apologies for the delay closing this question -- I have been very busy.
I went with the dictionary definition, although your answers may be right. Thanks to all.
Conor McAuley (asker) Sep 8, 2006:
Note Also, this is real estate *management* software, the actual accounting software is separate - accessible via "links to accounts" (utility programmes) apparently.
Conor McAuley (asker) Sep 8, 2006:
Note The Robert & Collins Mngmt dictionary lists "journal centralisateur" as "general journal" but I wanted to check.

On that basis "centralisation" maybe means "transfer to general journal"???
Julie Barber Sep 8, 2006:
where I work we use JDE (JD Ewards) accounting software I know (but don't under that section of it) that it has 'journals' (in English) in it. Checking out their software online might help you out.

centralised journals

A journal is used to correct errors in the accounts.

These may be pre-determined journals for transactions that occur repeatedly within the business but don't fit within the normal accounting procedures.

consolidated journal

Hello,

I think "centralisateur" may have the meaning of something consolidated.

I hope this helps.
