فأحضر المدعي شاهدين آخرين هما ***** و***** حيث شهد كل واحد منهما بعدالة الشاهدين

This means that the two original witnesses were NOT replaced by the new ones, but they were brought in to confirm their integrity as Mr. Wadan explained in detail.
Another proof that the original witnesses were NOT replaced is that the 4 witnesses (2 as witnesses and 2 as معدلين ) signed the court decision.
So, I think we have to call المعدلين confirming or validating witnesses.
