Trabalhei anos para um jornal de grande circulação, meu filho é jornalista atuante na profissão e nenhum de nós ouviu falar em "artigo de opinião" em jornais brasileiros. Os leitores escrevem cartas com seus comentários, alguns as escrevem em forma de artigo. As instituições dão às duas a mesma denominação, mesmo que às vezes os artigos (dependendo do autor e do conteúdo) recebam tratamento diferente. Assim, dependendo da empresa, temos "Opinião do Leitor", "Carta do Leitor", "Comentário do Leitor", "Comentários sobre o Artigo NNN", "Cartas à Redação", "Cartas ao Editor" e muitas outras alternativas. Basta escolher uma delas que qualquer brasileiro entenderá do que se trata.
