English term or phrase: flakes of approx. 1.0 ×1.0 cm
Subsequently they are cut into hyphal flakes of approx. 1.0 ×1.0 cm with a cutter. After these flakes are boiled, dried, pulverized and sifted, the finished products are obtained.

Is there a better way to express the meaning? :-)

Thank you in advance!

Explanation:
Hi Jianming.
I am sorry but I am confused by the sentence. Specifically, I am confused by the term "hyphal". A hypha is a slender tubular form that reminds me of a segment of a pretzel.

http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=of a pretzel.&fw=2&fc=...

How then, can a flake, which is broad and flat, look like a hypha?

I cannot offer a suggestion on how to fix this because I do not have a clear idea of what this substance looks like.

Do you mean to say that the flakes are construed from fungal material? If so, substitute "fungal" for "hyphal" and it will be clear that the qualifier relates to the material rather than the shape.
