All structural elements, i.e., hull, fairleads, process plant deck, pull-in decks, flare boom etc., shall be designed and verified using the yielding, buckling and fatigue criteria according to the latest revision of the Classification Society Rules.
From the verb to buckle = to collapse or lose strength completely, sometimes as a result of a structural defect or weakness.
