French term
matériaux de récupération
French to English
Marketing
Marketing / Market Research
any old iron
Context: ...maison de 297m2, construite avec des matériaux de récupération, elle offre de grands volumes, 4 grandes chambres, 4 salles de bain...
I am looking for nice way to express 'récupération': this is (going to be) a very expensive house on a very expensive plot with a very expensive brochure and a very expensive translation ;-)
Suggestions: reworked material; salvaged material; vintage materials...
None of these really hit the mark for me, any suggestions welcome.

: yes, this is definitely the correct term in UK English - that's what the people in the business call it "reclamation", "reclaimed materials"

Conor, for me, \"vintage\" is too closely associated with cars and wine. Just doesn\'t seem right for building materials!

Not if these are carefully chosen, tasteful materials designed to build what is apparently a luxury home - according to Connor. :-) Et si, pourquoi pas ?! Let me change the word "designed" in my earlier comment to "intended" = the nicest of reclaimed mat.

matriaux de rcupration
recuperated materials
I actually think the literal translation sounds mice here. Recuperation is a word used a lot in the art world, so that may appeal to your readership ;-)
Take this example from the Andrew Edlin gallery in New York:
http://www.edlingallery.com/dynamic/artist_bio.asp?ArtistID=...
After studying theology and hotel administration, Richard Greaves (1952) worked as a chef and graphic designer in the Montreal region. In 1982, he decided to change his life and moved to a small village in the Beauce region of Quebec. On the land and in the forest nearby his house, he created many assemblages with recuperated materials. About the objects he assembles, he has written, “I very much liked and observed old objects, used objects, objects worn down by the force of time and human history. I am a being that has served, been transformed, an object that wants to be understood and enlightened, and that likes to be used.”

The Project
We intend to design a piece of furniture or an item with a practical purpose that suits the criteria of interior design. We aim for an innovative solution in the sense of Eco-design and Design for Sustainable Development. The project should be understood as a contribution to the search for alternative methods and concepts in interior and product design.
The following list suggests conceptual approaches and possibilities of interpretation. These criteria are requisite for the Québec Éco-Design contest:
-A product that is made from recycled or recuperated materials
-A piece of furniture that facilitates recycling
-An item that can be produce without the side effects of pollution and environmental harm
-A product that helps reducing the consumption energy in terms of its production and use
-A durable product with a life cycle considerably longer than what is currently on the market
-A product that promotes habits and life styles well disposed toward ecological concern

Yeah, Connor, I know the type all right (and I\'m sure not living in one meself!). But the big trend in the area now seems to be building your \"new\" house with old stones from castles and ruins. If you can find exactly what salvaged materials they are actually using for this particular house, it could make it sound even more enticing for buyers.
\"built from the stone of centuries-old ruins\" blah, blah, blah,
