(Now for a proper answer to the question as intended. Sorry, couldn't resist the last one)! I much prefer freelancing which is why I chose it. However, that was an initial choice as other options were not open at the time. A number of factors came into play when chosing whether to set up in business or not, not least was the family set up at the time. I can only go on my own experience and have no idea if one of the other options is "best". For whom?

I have more than 4 decades of experience translating in-house and as a contractor for international organizations. Their rates and working conditions are very rewarding, plus I have received a vast amount of coaching from my colleagues.
