Why don't they want to pay for tests?

Referring, of course, only to legitimate cases:
It occurs to me that in those cases where a test translation request is legitimate, the client should be prepared to pay for it. A test of only 100-200 words, for instance, would be cheap and a small price to pay for quality assurance.
Besides, as translators, we are not concerned with the purpose to which our clients put our translations. Testing is simply one other purpose and it is solely the client's business. ... See more
