I had been searching for various terms on Proz.com Term Search, and nothing suitable would come up. Then I searched for these terms on google, and I ended up finding old threads from Proz.com from the Term Search, and I wondered why these hadn't come up when I first used the Term Search.

I have since discovered that you can select Kudos Archive in the Proz.com Term Search:

  • Click 'Advanced Options' (below where you normally search for a term)

  • under ... See more

I have since discovered that you can select Kudos Archive in the Proz.com Term Search:

  • Click 'Advanced Options' (below where you normally search for a term)

  • under 'Resources to search', select 'Kudos Archive' (you can also select other options while you are there, such as GlossPost).

  • Then select 'Search and save settings', so next time you search for a term, it will automatically search the Kudos Archive.

  • I'm not sure why it is set up to only search the newer Kudos terms, and not the older ones, as surely all terms, whether old or new, are helpful to translators.

I'm sure a lot of you already know about these search options, but I'm just posting this so that others are aware of how to get more Kudos terms in their search results in the Proz.com Term Search.

    Strange ... Oct 14, 2011

... I have just opened this "Advanced options" panel myself to see what this is all about, and it turns out that for me, the "KudoZ archive" option is checked -- but I'm pretty sure I've never looked into any of these options, let alone changed them. I didn't even know they existed. So as far as I'm concerned, this was set as the default.

Christiane, are you sure you have never meddled :-] with those options before?

Yes that is strange Oct 14, 2011

I'm pretty sure I haven't meddled with the options before - though if everyone else seems to have this already set up as the default option, then I guess I must have meddled with it in the past (but I don't recall this). Strange indeed!

They are checked for me as well. Oct 15, 2011

I seem to be the default option. But anyway, thanks for the tip, it may be nice to know – one rarely studies all the helpful options available

Checked for me too Oct 16, 2011

In any case, thank you for this post, Christiane. I had never had the time to eamine the Advanced Options feature and now I am aware of many choices, and I can also uncheck what is not needed!
