I am a student at the University of Puerto Rico Graduate Program in Translation, who's about to render and defend her thesis before year end. I am graduating cum laude, never have repeated or withdrawn from a seminar or course, and have enjoyed every minute of it. My favorite areas are: literary, legal, medical and journalism translation from English into Spanish. I have worked as a secretary for almost 30 years and am ready to make the crossover to become a full-fledged translator. I will try to certify myself as one through the Court Interpreter/Translator System starting next year, and through ATA (American Translators Association) as soon as possible.

Estudio en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, en el Programa Graduado en Traducción. Antes de que termine el año entregaré y defenderé mi tesis. He obtenido notas sobresalientes, y me graduaré cum laude el año próximo. He pasado todos mis cursos y seminarios, sin haberme dado de baja o haber repetido ninguno de ellos y he disfrutado cada momento como estudiante. Mis áreas favoritas son: traducción literaria, legal, médica y periodística del español al inglés. He trabajado por 30 años como secretaria y estoy lista para convertirme en traductora oficial. Me trataré de certificar mediante el sistema de intérpretes y traductores del Tribunal Federal y por la ATA (American Translators Association) tan pronto como me sea posible.
