Translator of French and Italian and former professor of the practice in Tulane University’s Department of French and Italian. Have translated articles for Bonsai magazine and essays for Cambridge University Press. Earned a BA in Italian and linguistics from Newcomb College, an MA in Italian from UCLA, and a PhD in medieval Romance languages and literatures, with a concentration in French, from Tulane University. Studied in France at the Université de Strasbourg and at the Université Catholique de l'Ouest in Angers, and in Italy at the Università degli Studi in Florence.
Most recent work is a translation of an 18th century French manuscript, "Relation du voyage de la Louisianne ou Nouvelle France fait par le Sr. Caillot en l’année 1730" found in "A Company Man: The Remarkable French-Atlantic Voyage of a Clerk for the Company of the Indies" (Caillot, Marc-Antoine.
