I hold a B.A in Legal Translation and an M.A. in Technologies of Translation and Localization. I'm very technology-oriented but I also place great importance on the traditional skills expected from any translator, such as, accuracy and good writing skills.
I have worked both as an in-house and freelance translator for the past 5 years. Because of my Master's Degree, I have developed an interest in Machine Translation Technologies and I have been comparing and contrasting different MT tools (rule-based and statistical engines) and doing research into several MT-related aspects, such as pre- and post-editing, controlled languages, output quality and productivity.
Because of my increased interest in specialized translation, I'm currently taking the Master's program in Medical Translation offered by the Universitat Jaume I.
Depending on the subject I can translate from 2000 words up to 2500 and my rates are the following: US$ 0.08 to US$ 0.10 per source word.
