The Imaginary is one of three realms described by Jacques Lacan that a child must pass through to become a linguistic speaking subject. The fi rst of these realms, the Real, is marked by the child’s non-differentiation from anything or anyone around it; in the Real, there are no images, no representations, and no language because the child does not know any separation between self and other. The child must leave the Real due to the imperatives of biological
growth, as it begins to recognize its body as being distinct
from that of its mother or caregivers. When the child begins to use images for its psychological development—such as internalizing an image of a face—it enters the Imaginary realm. Within the Imaginary, the child experiences the mirror phase, in which it sees its own refl ection in a mirror and misrecognizes that specular or visual experience as a representation of itself. The child thus internalizes an Imaginary specular image of a whole body, which
comes to replace its fragmentary experience of its own body parts. Lacan argues that the visual or specular self internalized in the Imaginary becomes the basis for the linguistic speaking self—the self who says “I”—in the Symbolic Order. There is no clear division between the Imaginary and the Symbolic, and humans as subjects
are always misrecognizing images as a form of reality. The
Imaginary is thus associated with creativity, with poetry, and with the powers of the imagination.
Translation - Persian (Farsi) ساحت خیالی Imaginary
بنابر توصیف ژاک لاکان، ساحت خیالی یکی از سه مرحله¬ای است که کودک باید از سر بگذراند تا بتواند به سوژه¬ی زبان¬بلدِ سخن¬گو تبدیل شود. وجه مشخصه¬ی اولین مرحله از سه مرحله¬ی مذکور، که از آن تحت عنوان حیث واقع یاد می¬شود، این است که کودک خودش را از افراد یا اشیاء پیرامون خود منفک نمی¬داند؛ در حیث واقع، هیچ تصویر، هیچ بازنمایی و هیچ زبانی وجود ندارد، چراکه کودک هیچ جدایی¬ای بین خود و دیگری نمی¬شناسد. کودک ناچار است حیث واقع را در مواجهه با الزاماتِ رشد زیستی ترک کند، چراکه کم¬کم پی می¬بَرَد بدنی جدای از بدن مادر یا مراقب¬اش دارد. کودک هنگامی که در مسیر رشد روانی¬اش شروع به استفاده از تصاویر ذهنی می¬کند – مثلاً تصویر چهره¬ی فردی خاص را درونی¬سازی می¬کند – به ساحت خیالی وارد می¬گردد. کودک در ساحت خیالی مرحله¬ی آینه را تجربه می¬کند: کودک در این مرحله انعکاسی از خود را در آینه می¬بیند و به اشتباه، این تصویر آینه¬ای یا تجربه¬ی بصری را بازنمودی واقعی از خودش می¬داند. لذا کودک، تصویر خیالی تمام یک بدن که در آینه منعکس شده است را در ذهنش درونی¬سازی می¬کند و این تصویر، جایگزین تجربه¬ی چندپاره¬ای که او از اعضای بدن خودش داشت، می¬شود. لاکان استدلال می¬کند که خویشتنِ درونی¬سازی شده¬ی بصری یا آینه¬ای، که در ساحت خیالی اتفاق می¬افتد، پایه¬ی گویشوریِ زبانیِ فرد یا همان خویشتن «من»گو را در ساحت نمادین تشکیل می¬دهد. افتراق واضحی بین ساحت خیالی و ساحت نمادین وجود ندارد و انسان¬ها به عنوان سوژه¬های روانی همیشه تصاویر ذهنی را اشتباهاً به عنوان شکلی از واقعیت شناسایی می¬کنند. لذا ساحت خیالی با خلاقیت، شعر و توانایی¬های تخیلی در ارتباط است.

Source text - Persian (Farsi) Postcolonial means “after” colonialism. Generally, the term refers
to the period after a former colony gains its independence: India
became postcolonial in 1948, when it became a nation of its own
and ceased being a colony of the British Empire. But “postcolonial”
refers to more than just the establishment of an independent
government. Colonialism exists as ideologies and practices
that assume the dominance or rightness of the colonizing culture;
these ideologies and practices do not end when the colonists leave.
Rather, “postcolonial” may refer best to the time period when a
previously colonized culture wrestles with the meaning of its identity
as an independent entity. What language will a postcolonial
society speak—that of the colonizers, which had been the offi cial
language, or any indigenous languages? How will the history of the
postcolonial nation be taught in their schools or in the schools of
the colonizing country? Much postcolonial literary theory examines
how authors deal with the issues and contradictions of life in
formerly colonized cultures.
Translation - English پسااستعماری به معنای دوران «پس از» استعمار است. به طور اعم، این اصطلاح یعنی دوره‌ی پس از کسب استقلال توسط یک مستعمره: هند در سال 1948 به استقلال رسید و دوران مستعمرگی‌اش تحت امپراطوری بریتانیا پایان یافت و به دوران پسااستعماری وارد شد. اما معنای اصطلاح «پسااستعماری»، فراتر از ایجاد یک دولت مستقل است. استعمار کماکان در شکل ایدئولوژی‌ها و اَعمالی که بر تفوق و راستیِ فرهنگ استعمارگر صحه می‌گذارد، به حیات خود ادامه می‌دهد؛ این ایدئولوژی‌ها و اَعمال به همراه استعمارگر کشور را ترک نمی‌کنند. لذا بهتر است گفته شود که دوران «پسااستعماری» یعنی دوره‌ای که در آن یک فرهنگِ قبلاً تحت استعمار، در حال دست و پنجه نرم کردن با معنای هویت خویش به عنوان یک وجود مستقل است. جامعه‌ی پسااستعماری باید از چه زبانی استفاده کند؟ زبان استعمارگر، که قبلاً زبان رسمی بوده، یا یکی از زبان‌های بومی؟ تاریخ یک کشور پسااستعماری باید چگونه در مدارس آن جامعه یا مدارس جامعه‌ی استعمارگر تدریس شود؟ بخش قابل توجهی از نظریه‌ی ادبی پسااستعماری، مسائل و تعارضات زندگی در فرهنگ‌های قبلاً تحت استعمار را مورد بررسی و مداقه قرار می‌دهد و تلاش می‌کند خط مشی این مباحث را مشخص کند.
Persian (Farsi) to English: Siraf Port
Source text - Persian (Farsi) در ساحل بالای نابند و شمال باختری آن، بندر سیراف واقع است که در قرن چهارم قبل از رونق کیش مرکز تجاری خلیج بوده است (لسترنج، 1337: 278). مدتها قبل از احداث شهر اسلامی سیراف، این نقطه مسکون و آباد بوده است. در دوره ساسانی بندر سیراف مرکز بازرگانی بزرگی شد ودر ردیف بندر ری شهر قرار گرفت. مدتی در حدود سه قرن، بزرگترین بندر بازرگانی دریای پارس، بلکه بزرگترین بندر بازرگانی خاور به شمار می رفت و در حقیقت یک بندر بین المللی، مرکز بازرگانانی ثروتمند بود (افشار سیستانی ، 1376: 293).
Translation - English Further up the coast, to the north-west of Naband, is the port of Siraf, the chief emporium of the Persian Gulf in the 4th century AH, prior to the rise of Kish Island. (Le Strange, 1958-1959: 278(. This region was inhabited and developed long before the establishment of the Islamic city of Siraf. During the Sassanian period the port of Siraf was developed to a great commercial center and promoted to the rank of Ray-Shahr port. Siraf was considered as the greatest commercial port in the Persian Gulf and even in the East for about three centuries and was actually an international port and a wealthy commercial center (Afshar Sistani,1997-1998: 293).
