Bio
I am Ivorian and my native language is French. I live in Abidjan and I have been translating for 3 years. Although I received a science-based education, I have been diligently studying the English language for over eighteen years. I am still spellbound and fascinated by its beauty, permutations and how to best express different shades of meaning. I began translating in early 2012 as a freelance translator for web sites like Elance.com and Translatorscafe.com. My resume, which is attached, details my background; let me provide you with the highlights:
• Certified translation professional (English French): This certification first shows that I have a systematic knowledge of the field. Additionally it demonstrates that I am able to produce quality translations that meet professional standards. Finally, it means my skills, knowledge and abilities have been verified by experts in the field.
• Thorough educational background: I hold a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and a technical degree in Geology and Mining. This gives me particular insight for texts dealing with scientific and engineering topics, although I can also translate in many fields.
• I have good writing and reading skills in both the source (English) and target (French) languages.
• I am motivated, enthusiastic, and a fast learner.

Extracurricular Activities & Others
- Former Student Coordinator in English department at Campus Crusade
- Member of the interpretation committee of my church.
- Member of translator forums and communities - translatorscafe.com, Global Translator Community, and SDL BeGlobal Community

I promise three things to any employers:
- I will behave with professional integrity. I won't claim knowledge I lack, and I won't take projects if I don't have the prerequite skill set.
- I will only take projects that I can bring to successful conclusion.
- I will be responsible. I will adhere to the deadlines.

Thanks for your time and I am looking forward to working with you!
