Двама души дохаждаха в тая воденица: сам дядо Цоно и син му Стефан. Дядо Цоно беше стар човек. Всички стари хора са приведени и докато младите гледат нагоре, старите отправят погледите си надолу и гледат земята, която скоро ще ги прибере. Но дядо Цоно не беше само приведен, а от някаква болест беше просто прегънат надве и не можеше да ходи инак, освен като попречи тоягата си отзад на кръста и се залови с ръце за двата й края. Тъй той запазваше равновесие и вървеше бавно, загледан в земята, като че търсеше нещо. Когато отиваше на воденицата, той не се отбиваше нито наляво, нито надясно, обикаляше тъй, както криволи и самата пътека. | Translation - English
Grandfather Tsono himself and his son Stefan were the two people that would go to that water-mill. Grandfather Tsono was an old man. All old people stay bent and while young people look up to the sky, old people stare down and look at the ground which is soon to take them in. Grandfather Tsono was not only hunched over but simply stooped in two, due to some kind of a disease; he couldn't walk any other way except from placing his cudgel behind his back while holding onto its two ends. This way, he kept balance, walking slowly, staring at the ground as if he was looking for something. When going to the water-mill he did not deviate neither to the left nor to the right; he went round, mimiccing the twists and turns of the path itself. |
