I graduated from Aston University with a Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Translation Studies: French in 2009 and was also awarded the Roevin Translation Prize of the same year from The Translation People for Achievement in Translation.

Having accomplished fluency in French after filling professional roles across the hexagon, I emigrated to an African Spanish enclave where I rapidly became fluent in Spanish.

Upon my return to the UK, I undertook an internship at a translation company in the heart of London. I was very quickly promoted to a project management role. As Communications and Project Manager, I liaised with various freelance translators and clients on a daily basis and managed projects ranging from typesetting and translation to interpreting and Braille. I also managed the social media and networking side of the company. Another role of mine was to manage all ISO procedures, demonstrating that I have a deep understanding of quality assurance and its importance.

I went on to translate full-time as an in-house French > English translator for a video games company in the north of France. The company are the national leader of the market. The texts I used to translate on a daily basis varied in register, nature and tone and I was faced with plays on words and challenging double senses on a regular basis. I also dealt with a fair amount of Americanisation.
I translated all types of texts, from press releases to in-game literary excerpts, from texts for web publication to confidential internal correspondence.

Having worked in a customer service department, both in France and in London for a leading telecommunications company, I show that I deliver a professional, understanding service not just in the UK, but internationally.

My previous professional roles have all been client-facing and therefore clear, concise communication has been of the utmost importance, ensuring customer satisfaction. Forasmuch, I understand the values of strict-deadlines and accuracy in work delivered.

I am a serious, determined and committed individual and some might say a perfectionist. I have a keen eye for detail and always provide a thorough, contextual translation.
