Source text - Portuguese O estudo tem po objetivos indentificar a produção científica entre profissionais da saúde com perfuro-cortantes, caracterizar os fatores predisponentes aos acidentes de trabalho assim como os procedimentos realizados pós-exposição com o material perfuro-cortante potencialmente contaminado. Foi realizada uma revisão literária cuja busca bibliográfica por palavras-chave foi efetuada através das bases de dados: LILACS, Bireme e Ministério da Saúde. Notou-se que os fatores predisponentes às ocorrências de acidentes de trabalho com perfuro-cortante estão relacionadas às condições de trabalho bem como às individuais. Reforçando a importância da conscientização destes trabalhadores para a orientação e constante educação. Conclui-se que a adoção de precauções-padrão no trabalho da saúde é condição fundamental para a segurança dos trabalhadores independente da area de atuação. A correta aplicação de NR32 de maneira efetiva e obrigatoriedade do uso de agulhas retráteis traz expectativas positivas no cenário Brasileiro para mudanças significativas. Estratégias preventivas aparecem como um desafio para administradores, trabalhadores, estudantes, universidades, pesquisadores onde o maior ganho está na promoção destes profissionais para mudanças definitivas.
Translation - English The study has as objectives to identify the scientific production about the work accident among health professionals with piercing- cutting, to characterize the underlying factors to the work accidents as well as the procedures realized post-exposure with the piercing-cutting material potentially contaminated. It was made a literature review whose bibliographic search for key words was realized through the databases: LILACS, Bireme and Ministério da Saúde. It was noticed that the underlying factors to the work accidents occurrence with piercing-cutting are related to work conditions and individual conditions as well. Emphasizing the importance of the conscientization of these workers to the orientation and permanent education. It appears that the adoption of standard precautions in working health is a fundamental condition for the security of workers unrelated to the performance area. The correct application of NR32 in an effective way and the obligation of the usage of retractile needles brings positive expectations in Brazilian scenery to effective changes happen. Preventive strategies appear as a challenge for managers, workers, students, universities, researchers where the greatest gift is in health promotion of these professionals to make significant changes.
