Dear Colleagues, dear SDL Team,

I used the "return package" tool for the first time today and am somewhat puzzled. I created the package following an SDL photo (which worked perfectly) and ended up with a 12K KB file I sent to my client. Unfortunately, the customer wanted changes made so asked me to alter the text and send the new package and this is where I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm using exactly the same procedure as the first time round, but it's just not working:

Dear Colleagues, dear SDL Team,

I used the "return package" tool for the first time today and am somewhat puzzled. I created the package following an SDL photo (which worked perfectly) and ended up with a 12K KB file I sent to my client. Unfortunately, the customer wanted changes made so asked me to alter the text and send the new package and this is where I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm using exactly the same procedure as the first time round, but it's just not working: I get a 159 KB file that is, according to my customer, empty. I expect this is due to the fact I more or less terminated the translation procedure by generating the first package, but surely, there must be a way of generating a second package? I've tried opening the package that I generate a know is right but can't because I'm the user who created it. I can change the status of the translation either.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Fiona

Hello everyone,

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

I have been working with Trados Studio for the past 2-3 years,
and I never had such a problem, but one of my clients in the past week
pointed out twice that 1 of the 2 languages in 2 of the return packages I delivered
were empty, but the translation was 100% reviewed on my side for both languages.

The source file I translated with Trados is a simple Word file (no font formatting),
the packages I delivered had 2 languages each (only one language missing,
different language for each "problematic" package),
and both me and my client are using Trados Studio 2011 SP2R.

When I returned the missing language file alone
using the same Return package function,
the client could import the translation without any problem.

It would be nice if anyone could help on this issue,

Thanks in advance,

Best wishes
