Tengo este texto:
"el señor presidente del Colegio de Ingenieros, Pedro Pérez, nombramiento efectuado según declaratoria oficial del Tribunal Electoral del Colegio, en la sesión 2520-2009 del 4 de mayo de 2009, y juramentado en la sesión extraordinaria..."
La declaratoria oficial es un tipo de acta donde el Tribunal Electoral indica cuántos votos hubo a favor de tal candidado y que, por obtener la mayoría de votos, se ratifica como presidente.

Comment: "Gracias a ambos por sus aportes. Me gustaría cambiar "returns" porque la "declaratoria" es más bien similar a un "comunicado de acuerdo". En cuanto a la otra opción, lo que pasa es que es más frecuente el uso de "Electoral Tribunal" en nuestro ambiente (lo ha hecho "popular" el Tico Times). Lástima que no se pueden dividir los puntos. Mil gracias!!!!"
