I think "unique characters" is a better fit for this particular context. "Indivudal destinies" is technically more correct, but it sounds weird to me and could not find any formulation based on the word "destiny" that sounded less weird.

I think this may fit well in your context.

Thank you for your response. This was a good suggestion, but for this particular translation I ended up going with "unique characters" which somebody else suggested. It just sounded more natural and I think catches most of the meaning well enough.
