interest relief / credited /

> for interest paid on a loan etc. and deductibe from income in the form of a tax credit.
Example sentence:

For those of you old enough to remember, there is no longer any income tax relief on mortgage interest suffered to buy your own hom.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Christopher Schröder : It’s not a tax relief. It’s the inverse of interest payable on tax arrears.

agree TechLawDC : "interest credited" is the standard term in U.S. English. It is interest paid (or credited) by the Tax Authority on a taxpayer's credit balances.
