Perfect I promise you that this sounds right and natural.

How does "VG rates it 5 out of 6" sound to you native speakers of English? OK or not?

A five/ A five out of six (rating of five out of six)

Since a die has 6 sides, the ratings would go from 1 to 6.
You can say: "I saw that movie. It wasn't the best. I'd give it a three out of six."

stars

In the US movies are rated according to stars. The highest rating is five stars. The Norwegian system is different, but I believe you could say e.g. "VG gave the movie five out of six stars".
