The "spfigma" part makes me think it's got to do with a hypo-something-or-other using a sphygmogram / arteriogram.
At this point, however, you can conclude that your doctor is a terrible speller. In Italian, it's "sfigmografo" without the "p". This means he's probably mispelled "belst" as well!
