German term or phrase: sentence about baler twine
I would appreciate some help with this whole sentence, even it is just an idea about what is going on.
The person who wrote this is a farmer describing a problem with his baler. This sentence describes what he did to the baler twine but I don't have much of a clue what this is. Help!

Explanation:
I think that what he is saying is that that they have made oblique cuts in the tops of the welded-on guide loops so that tangles (Garnknäuel) can be moved past these loops (Versetzen)without undoing the connecting knots. (The cuts are oblique so that the twine will not accidentally jump out of the loops)
