German term

Regulierungsschreiben

German to English Bus/Financial Insurance Car insurance
I'm currently working on a DE>EN translation of the Terms & Conditions for a warranty that pays out to cover the excess that becomes due when a comprehensive car insurance policy pays out. Under "Obligations" is the following clause:

"Der Schaden ist unverzüglich der KFZ-Versicherung des Fahrzeuges zu melden und über die von dort erfolgte Leistung ist schriftlich (z.B. durch Vorlage des Regulierungsschreibens) Nachweis zu führen."

I've translated the whole clause, but "Regulierungsschreiben" has got me stumped. Does anyone know what a "Regulierungsschreiben" is, and/or how to translate it? My usual dictionaries don't have it and I can't find any results on Google DE that actually explain what it is/what it contains.

If the Letter of Response denies liability entirely and there is no Letter of Settlement, the Client is then entitled to commence proceedings.
