French term

relations des services

French to English Other Military / Defense military service record
This is the translation of a Belgian military service record dating from the 1980s for a museum exhibit.

It includes a double-page table with the title 'RELATIONS DES SERVICES' and (illegibly) a number of various transfers with the date and administrative stamps. It is noteworthy that a footnote mentions the air force, indicating that inter-service transfer can be listed.

I am looking for a better translation than 'SERVICE RELATIONS'. Perhaps 'INTER-SERVICE TRANSFERS' would actually be more accurate?

Discussion

Thomas Miles (asker) Sep 15, 2019:
'posting' As I have later found out, the booklet uses 'affectation', which would naturally be posting. This does not necessarily make Anne's suggestion wrong.
Thomas Miles (asker) Sep 15, 2019:
katsy - I have used 'military service record' to refer to the booklet as a whole, but I do agree that the strategy whereby a close translation of the source is abandoned in favour of an original but accurate explanation is provided.
katsy Sep 13, 2019:
I'm wondering if "service record" (as in your title), or "detailed service record" might suffice? It sounds as if the table shows all the postings of the person. 'postings' might be an idea, too. (I am not an expert in the field, so do not propose an answer)

When I served in the RAF our transfers from RAF base to RAF base were referred to as Postings. The Navy called them Appointments. Sorry, no references except personal experience.
Note from asker:
Certainly a good suggestion, thank you Anne.

agree katsy : that's what I thought too - but no experience at all! (see DB)
