Any suggestions for this first part of a recipe? No actual recipe given, far less any piccies provided, just the name of the dish :-(( Probably for a cookbook so needs to sound appetising! Annoyingly there's a Belgian NL/FR site with 'Kabeljauwrugstuk op het vel gebakken met verse aspergepunten, spek en olijven', but the link takes you to a different recipe so I can't see what the French translation is!

MoiraB Post-grading: While fully accepting that rugstuk might not be the exact equivalent of fillet, fillet does seem to be what the author meant here. His own silly mistake perhaps. I do also feel that 'fillet of cod' sounds better as part of a recipe name than 'piece of cod'. Anyway isn't cod usually served filleted? (don't like fish much so have limited hands-on experience!)

here's the French translation you couldn't access: (see URL in my answer): Pav� de cabillaud cuit sur sa peau aux pointes d'asperges, lard et olives. Note it does not say filet here either. :-)

This is one of the 'newer' ways of cooking fish, in which the skin is left on the fillet and allowed to 'bake' until blackened.
