Explanation:
Caliberation is to compare and correct the readings of a "test specimen" with a "STANDARD" specimen. Traceability is a common term in Quality Assurance. By "traceable", they mean that you can work backwords and check on all the stages of certification and the accracy of the instruments used in the chain to certify the accuracy of the subject Instrument. Testing instruments are caliberated by instruments which are more accurate than the instruments being tested. National Standards Authority are expected to have the best of the best in the country. Hence, if any manufacturer/testing lab can prove that his instuments are regularly caliberated by very accurate instruments, the results from such instruments can be considered GOOD.
