English term

He barges through the kink

English Art/Literary Gaming/Video-games/E-sports slang
California. An old skater is talking to a younger one about a handrail on which he can do some maneuvers and says:

You oughta see Shawn skate this rail. He barges through the kink like it’s not even there.

I guess he can do something very good on it, but could you help me ti pinpint this slang?

Thank you, Alain

bend in the rail

A "kink rail" is one that has one or more "bends" in it as per the picture on this page:

Thanks to my still skateboarding partner for this one - he really should know better by his age though!

So "he barges over the kink" would mean that "he rides his board over the kink"

He skates very fast/with tremendous ease all over the RINK as if there were no rails (or

other objects) there at all or getting in the way.

He's such a smooth skater, a whiz kid at it.

he gets through a rough spot on the rail as though it weren't there

I think this is what it means. It's not really slangy.

It's jargon, not slang!

Never underastimate the power of slang :)
