Asset Management Firm vs. Wealth Management Firm
My document is a questionaire related to asset management companies and I have a list of different types of companies or roles.
I don't have a deep knowledge of financial matters.
What do you think about those terms and their translators? Is the first one more general and includes the second one?
Asset Management Firm = Société de gestion d'actifs
Wealth Management Firm = Société de gestion de patrimoine

Pour ce qui est de la signification, je dirais que la société de gestion d'actifs est une entité juridique qui fait appel à l'épargne de particuliers ou de clients institutionnels et sert de support aux fonds communs de placement (FCP) qui vont faire fructifier cette épargne en l'investissant sur différents actifs (actions, obligations, matières premières, métaux précieux, etc).
La société de gestion de patrimoine a un périmètre plus large: elle va prendre en charge l'ensemble du patrimoine du client et s'occuper de questions fiscales (la fameuse "optimisation") et envisager la transmission de ce patrimoine aux héritiers ("planification successorale").
