1 large orange urine collection container (jug) with sponge.
2 urine jugs per 24-hour collection period
2 plastic specimen vials per jug (for a total of 4 vials)
Each orange urine jug contains a preservative and a volume marker (sponge) that are essential to accurate laboratory results.
Ensure the cap is tightened on each orange collection jug before shaking.
Mix each collection jug vigorously for one timed minute.
Immediately fill the two provided plastic specimen vials by pouring the urine directly from the jug.
(There should be 2 specimen vials per jug.)
Ensure to process each collection jug one at a time.
DO NOT start processing second jug until first jug’s transport vials are filled and placed in the transport box.
Empty the remaining urine from the jug into the commode.
Replace the cap and dispose of the jug (it can be discarded by the patient).
Do not re-use the jug or use the jug for any other purpose.
For high urine output subjects, Use UroRisk Profile 1 and 2 labels for the two specimen vials from the first jug, and UroRisk Profile 3 and 4 labels for the two specimen vials from second jug.
