Motor Starter Equipment: The motor starter enclosure will either be of an open (wardrobe) type construction containing a number of motor starters grouped together within a single section or a multi-compartment construction, with separate compartments for each motor starter.
The control circuit voltage will be 110V AC derived from an isolation transformer or 24 V DC derived from a common 24V DC Power supply within
each motor starter panel common controls section. A two pole miniature circuit breaker will protect the control circuit supply to each motor starter
circuit of a multi-compartment type enclosure.
5.1 Enclosures
The enclosures within switchrooms shall be manufactured from Mild Steel, will be of the partial/fully welded construction and have a minimum ingress protection rating to IP54.
The enclosures shall be painted a single light Grey colour to RAL7035. The enclosures will be provided with a 100mm high steel plinth.
Cable glanding plates shall be provided in all wall and floor mounted enclosures.
Removable lifting eye bolts will be provided for each enclosure section.
A suite of enclosures forming a motor starter cabinet will be split down into
manageable sections for transportation to site following the completion of the
works testing of the equipment.
Enclosures located outdoors or on the plant will be rated as defined in the
project specification.
