I'm trying to get my head round the organisational structure of the UAB. I've translated all the "Facultats" (Faculties) and the "Departaments" (Departments), and now I've got the "Àrees". I was going to use "Department" again until I realised that many of them appear in all the tiers. One example of this would be the "Àrea de Traducció i Interpretació", so maybe Bernie will be able to help me again. If anyone can explain what the difference is between the role of an "Àrea" and a "Departament", that would be great as well.

Timothy - Berni's definitely your man for this one, but in the meantime, I think I'd go with plain old "area". Here's why: with "Faculty" and "Department" you've already assigned the two structural units most normal people are familiar with when it comes to universities. "College" maybe, but I think that's just what we Americans call "faculties". I've done a lot of work for another big university here. I checked my glossaries and they don't have "àrees", hence, I tend to think of it as more of an internal UAB thing. And if, as you say, they're on all tiers, trying to define and distinguish them from everything else may prove more trouble than it's worth. All the best - Patrick
