This is a quote by the CEO of a networking company that ends an entire article explaining the success one company had implementing his product. I'm looking for a natural U.S. English turn of phrase to convey "als unser zentrales Thema" in the following passage:

"Wir haben mit sehr einfachen aber umso wirkungsvolleren Mitteln eine robuste, sichere und unkomplizierte Kommunkationsplattform geschaffen. Speziell für die Mitglieder der Krankenhausleitung und des Direktoriums sowie für die Ärzteschaft ist dies von größter Bedeutung. Just an idea, but is this part of the sentence really necessary to translate? I mean, it's obvious that communication and the exchange of information is important to them because the whole section is talking about it. If you leave it out this also enhances the flow of the sentence:

"Fast information exchange is guaranteed."
