witness box

Or you could say 'witness booth' but I think the first one is better

These are terms used in courtrooms, as in the Spanish original. It gives the impression of being underpressure. Big Brother type tv tends to borrow language from 'real' environments, and then get everybody saying the 'new' meaning of the words as if it was always used to mean the booth in the tv show.

i meant to put a space between \'under\' and \'pressure\' in the above explanation. (Sorry, I was under pressure...)

Not enough space to continue comment below -
Timothy: I agree with your comment and it also does not make sense that why the other two people agreed with mine and not yours, as our answers are the same!

thanks
disagree Katherine Hodkinson : agree with paula - witness implies they are external, commenting on someone else-----i thought the context implied it was a 'testimonio' about oneself

Yes, but the Spanish term also implies the same.

neutral Timothy Barton : I don't mean to sound rude, but isn't the normal procedure to agree with the person who got the answer in first? Don't worry Sarah, I wasn't talking to you. Double answers happen all the time, but usually the votes go with the 1st answer if they're equal.

Not rude at all - actually I would have agreed with your answer of course, but I think we actually submitted our answers around the same time as when I wrote mine there were no others.do not know why I did not agree with your answer myself when i first sa

Not sure whether it's the best option for this context.

neutral Katherine Hodkinson : i realise this is all very 2 weeks ago now, but, to clarify, i chose to disagree with sarah's answer rather than yours because she had more points

the Confessional

El confesionario me parece una buena alternativa... La palabra Witness no me termina de convencer porque da la sensación de que ellos son observadores externos en lugar de participantes activos de lo que comentan o "confiesan".
Peer comment(s):

agree Katherine Hodkinson : i think this is a good alternative if you don't want to use the SAME terminology as big brother
