Final thought: Treatement GUIDES or Guides to Treatment is VERY common in English..

cheminement is the process of going through treatment...now, if one helps someone through that process, one would be ACTING AS A GUIDE...

faciliter le cheminement...ergo is a guide for the patient..I can\'t believe that is so hard to understand...you facilitate someone\'s moving through a process by GUIDING THEM...

neutral RHELLER : sorry, but this does not correspond to the references I see
1 hr
it does...people are guided or given guides in medical treatement parlance,,,faciliter le cheminement..is to help guide the patient ....it's so obvious...and obviously in English,,if you guide you can use the word path IF NECESSARY, which it isn't here

progress

With the sense of a slow and steady movement forward allied to improvement in their condition.

Thanks again Vicky
disagree Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : it's a guide..not about progress...diseases progress so this is not the best idea, IMO

Patients also make progress, Jane, and their progress along the path of healing should be guided, as you say. My solution conveys both notions, I think. Thank you for your comment.

possibly 'processing'

A Google search on 'cheminement' + 'processing' returned hundreds of hits.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : that's passive..this is so people can help themselves not be processed

diabetic patients flow/ diabetics flow

As in 'the flow' of these patients through the healthcare system. They often have to see different specialists, nurses etc., for the management of their disease.

Hope this helps.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : really no...to move through the health care system...but here it's from the patients' point of view

to assist diabetics' path (or progress as Brian said)

I wanted to quote the entire section because it indicates the meaning so clearly:

Parlez à votre enfant de son diabète, de l'évolution de son fonctionnement et de votre cheminement à vous aussi. Par exemple : "Au début j'avais l'impression que tu ne serais pas capable et j'avais toujours peur mais là je suis très fier de toi et je te promets que je vais essayer de te faire davantage confiance"
Peer comment(s):

neutral Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : here it's the path she has followed..int he expression to help guide [you can always say path] however it isn't necessary. and to assist a diabetic's path is not idiomatic, IMO
