During practice sesions, tyre pressues will be tweaked to ensure they don't wear heavily, don't overheat, and most importantly, are in the best performance window to collect data.
There are x6 wear pins across the surface of the tyre, used to measure the amount of wear on the tyres.

Ho trovato la spiegazione di cosa sono in inglese, ma non so come vengono chiamati in italiano: "Once the tyres are changed during the pit stop, the tyre specialist uses a torch to heat up the built-up rubber on the tyre to expose three small holes called wear pins. Depth of these pinholes indicates the rate of wear and specific areas of the tyre wear."
