enamel Explanation: It seems ouverture and préouverture refer not to actually (pre-) opening the ampoules but to the arrangements made to prepare them for opening, i.e. creating a 'snap point' where it is not only easy to break the glass but where no glass splinters or particles will be formed. This involves scoring the glass at the break point, which I suspect is what is referred to as préouverture. In the process described below, the scored line is set between two rings of vitrified émail. Is it possible that this 'enamel / ceramic' is referred to as poterie? La SFAM utilise deux procédés pour assurer l’autocassable, dont un qui a été développé et breveté par elle-même : • Le prélimage Le prélimage consiste à rayer le verre dans la zone où l’ampoule en verre doit être ouverte, pour faciliter l’ouverture par la casse de la pointe. Pour cela, on use le verre à l’aide d’un disque en métal diamanté tournant relativement lentement, tout en faisant aussi tourner l’ampoule en verre. Ce procédé est appliqué en fin de ligne de finition, après la recuisson. • Le double anneau Double Ring Break (DRB), dit « procédé SFAM » Le DRB, développé et breveté par la SFAM en 1984, permet d’éviter la formation de croissants de verre.L’idée est de renforcer la paroi de verre, de part et d’autre du prélimage, en déposant un anneau d’ÉMAIL d’impression à cet endroit, d’un coefficient de dilatation le plus proche possible de celui du verre. Techniquement, comme L’ÉMAIL DOIT ÊTRE VITRIFIÉ, les deux anneaux sont déposés avant l’arche de recuisson.
