Walang sinuman ang napakabuti na 'di niya kailangang maligtas. Explanation: The context of the translation I provided is based on the Christian faith and what the Bible teaches -- "no one is righteous, all have sinned, and everyone needs to be saved from the punishment of sin". Reference Bible verses: Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Romans 3: 9, 10 (NTE) - What then? Are we in fact better off? No, certainly not. I have already laid down this charge, you see: Jews as well as Greeks are all under the power of sin. This is what the Bible says: No one is in the right – nobody at all! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2022-10-13 12:53:23 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In other Tagalog regions, the locals may alternatively say, "Walang sinuman ang sobrang buti na 'di na kailangang iligtas". |

no one is so good that he doesn't need to be saved. walang sinumang mabuti na hindi niya kailangang maligtas Explanation: Basically it is the very heart of Christian Faith and this biblical truth was anchored in the epistle of apostle Paul to the Romans. Paul said, as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; Romans 3:10 (ESV); For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6 (ESV). Also, in the Calvinistic view (John Calvin's Theology), the man doesn't have the capability to save himself because he is spiritually dead. Which brings to a famous and classical question back in the days of reformers "How can a dead man save himself when in fact he can't move or breath on his own?" |
