Reference information:
'or lay title' seems OK to me. Using the possessive would seem the title is by the layperson rather than for them. IMO 'layman' would be inappropriate for inclusivity reasons by now.

See the link below. I only ever see the word layperson in connection with the EU directive on clinical trials summaries.
