Depending on the engine's state of dress, it may be necessary to level the engine using the three adjustable lifting eyes (, Item 1) as follows:

Be it jet engines for planes or engines for cars, dressing refers to the 'bits', accessories or fittings attached to the bare engine that make it work ('organes périphériques' in a quote below). Oil pumps, water pumps, wiring harnesses, filters, etc.

The balance of the engine (is it initially suspended from a single lifting eye?) will differ depending on the parts attached to the bare engine.
