This is the first time I see such a word "Past-ing", it's a bit odd or maybe I wasn't lucky enough to stumble upon this 'figure of speech'. Therefore, I tried to translate it with the help of 'Palestine' and obviously, it will lead us to historical events/factors and from here to continuity since the occupation is still going
To summarize, Past-ing without the dash will be the ing form of verb Paste, the writer added the dash to express the timing, which is continuous.
I wish this is helpful, I tried to do some google searching and couldn't find anything.

(عدم وصفها بشيء سلبي هو لزرع التفاؤل)
وخصوصاً ان كان الكتاب يعرض وقائع موثقة
احداث مازالت مستمرة
احدث لم تنتهي

وافضل الوصف هو الوصف المحايد الذي لا يبث اليأس ان كان الكاتب يسرد القصص بوقائع تاريخية
اما اذا كان الكتاب عبارة عن قطعة ادبية اراد منها الكاتب لفت الناس للمعاناة الحاضرة
فلا بأس بالوصف الحزين الذي يظهر المآسي الحزينة رغم انها ستكون سلبية على نفسية القارئ
والسلبية هنا اوضح معالمها هو الملل من الاستمرار في القراءة والنفور من الكتاب
والرأي الاخير يعود لمؤلف الكتاب
