One of my friends has shown me a birth certificate in Portuguese, most of which I can understand, but there is something that baffles me: at the bottom, after the notes, it says:
CONTAS and then EMOLUMENTOS (Fees). and lastly, "Anotada no diario sob o n...."
What exactly is that "CONTAS", please?
