Arabic term or phrase: مدينة داخلية
Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Yemeni text, and in it, the speaker refers to قرية داخلية - I'm not sure what this means as even geographically 'interior/inner village' doesn't make sense.

Here's the text:

عشنا في الراهدة أربعة أشهر لا تُنسى، سكنّا في مستوصف "مأرب" في قرية داخلية. كانت المليشيات تقصف القرية ليل نهار. أتذكر بلاط المستشفى البارد

Thank you for your help!

English translation:a village in "inner" Ma'rib
Explanation:
In this file, you can see several examples of "inner" used with the region of Ma'rib:

The remaining IDPs (71K) live in the urban areas,
either in “inner Marib” (i.e. the small town and the city
center area), or in “outer Marib” (which is a minor city
expansion in the north that has seen a massive growth
over the past five years).

Page 55:
This suburb became
a major attraction for IDP communities, who
wanted to invest in a permanent residence and
sought affordability when they compared rental
or purchase prices in the inner Marib area.

You can also say it different ways, such as:
A village in Ma'rib's interior...
