Asker: Thanks for your response! Unfortunately, I don't have any photos. That would certainly make the assignment a lot easier :) I'm afraid your interpretation is incorrect though (although I could be wrong too), because 'in structuur gesneden' would be a very strange way of saying that in Dutch. Since the source was written by a Dutch native, it seems highly unlikely that this is the intended meaning. My suspicion is that it has to do with the structure of the wood that the frame is made of. Perhaps the frame was cut parallel to the direction of the wood grain, or something like that. Still, I would have no idea what the technical term would be (either in Dutch or English).
