Finnish term or phrase: prosessi (as used in industrial/factory contexts)
There's something about the term "prosessi", as used when describing industrial (or similar) processes, that I can't quite manage to grasp.

Here is a relevant excerpt, from a short description of the chemicals used in a biorefinery:

"
Vety

Vetyä valmistetaan biojalostamolla maakaasusta vetylaitoksella ja sitä käytetään prosessissa. Vetylaitos on [edellä mainitussa] huoltopysäytyksessä pysäytettynä ja huuhdeltuna.
"

"in the process" is not (by itself) an adequate English translation of "prosessissa" here, because there is no information in the immediate context (as far as I can see) that tells us what process is being referred to.

In other words, I grant that "prosessi" means "process" here – but WHAT process?

Thanks for your time

English translation:process
Explanation:
As I understand it, it refers to the (bio)refining process itself, i.e. the main process of the refinery. Hydrogen is produced at the hydrogen plant to be introduced in the refining process to make the biofuel.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks. Can this pattern be generalized to most/all other factory contexts? E.g., if the word ”prosessi” was used in a text about a metal-smelting plant, would it be fair to assume (in the absence of any further specification) that ”prosessi” referred to the overall smelting process at the plant, and not to some minor/secondary process that took place there?
