Вариант "контрольный анализ" позволяет избежать "перекрывания" с понятиями "дополнительный" (= additional), который может проводиться по любой причине), "подтверждающий" (= confirmation), который проводится, если один из результатов является положительным и это необходимо подтвердить, и даже "повторный" (который может проводиться как на том же образце, так и на новом, в связи с чем требуется уточнение). Термин "контрольный анализ" все эти проблемы решает.
