suplicar:
implorar, llorar, rogar, demandar, pedir, apelar, recurrir, interpelar
rezar, orar

y del RAE:

1. tr. Rogar, pedir con humildad y sumisión algo.

2. tr. Der. Recurrir contra el auto o sentencia de vista de un tribunal superior ante ese mismo tribunal.

Pero no llego a entender el significado de suplicas en el contexto de un documento de inscripción de una empresa al REGISTRO MERCANTIL DE MADRID

Spanish term (edited): suplicas

extras claimed

Unless a typo for suplidos / disbursements or out-of-pocket expenses, the context of VAT - and my vague recollection of Registro Mercantil company reg. applications of yesteryear, written in longhand or an electric typewriter - suggests added expenses.
Note from asker:
Thank you for the explanation and comments, which do make sense. Based on the context, I'm going with "additional charges"
Peer comment(s):

agree patinba : Well spotted. Definitely a mistake. "IVA + suplidos " is standard on these forms . "VAT + additional charges, if any" in English

Yes. I thought so - suplidos > a near-bog standard legal and commercial collocation. Gracias and thanks.
agree philgoddard : Though I don't understand what you mean by "unless a typo". As far as I can see, it is a typo.

Thanks, but I never take typos for granted, esp. when they make sense as-are and, from my experience in Madrid, committed speculatively after a liquid lunch or by an audio-typist who mishears the Cuban etc. accented pronunciation.
