joint sponsor-cum-backer

Doesn't really matter if it is a fund launch or buy-out: sponsor-cum-backer might well cover both.
Example sentence:

A financial sponsor is a private equity investment firm, particularly a private equity firm that engages in leveraged buyout transactions.

You may have miscontrued my answer. Joint was a separate idea for a joint partner and sponsor/backer had been combined in deference to your own discussion-entry of a pre- vs. post-launch query and that had not yet been answered. So thanks for the pointer.

I like the terms given previously, but these two might also be worth consideration depending on the nature of the "socio promotor" and the fuller context.
