Discussion

Daryo Oct 20, 2019:
IOW offer access to more than 90% of the world's Internet routes inside Equinix's IBX data centers
=
Equinix's IBX data centers are directly connected to 90% of "major" internet routes.

see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_backbone

Kind of equivalent to saying "our warehouses have direct links to 90 % of the motorway network" (and indirectly to all 100% of all roads)
Daryo Oct 3, 2019:
One puzzling bit ... the WHOLE OF the internet is interconnected - so once you are connect to the Net, you are connected to (/ can potentially reach) every single other machine connected to the Internet, so the idea that would could get

"access to more than 90% of the world's Internet routes"

instead of the full 100% sounds mildly illogical.

Unless they mean by "world's Internet routes" ONLY the "majors routes" of extremely high capacity - then it would make sense.

agree Daryo : access to more than 90% of the world's Internet routes = l'accès à plus de 90% des routes Internet globales // someone should inform these amateurs at CISCO that the term route "ne s'employe pas" - what would THEY know about routers?

Peer comment(s):

disagree Daryo : "qui est fréquemment utilisé" is the kind of "reasons/selection criteria" you would expect from some basic statistics-based Machine Translation engine // I couldn't be more serious about people "translating by statistics"

agree Mathieu Domec : J'approuve complètement "routage".
